Kim Hoben Hansen

Lay Zen teacher Kim Hoben Hansen has been devoted to Zen practice since 1995 and serves as the guiding teacher of the North Shore Zendo in Vancouver, Canada. In 2015, he received Lay Transmission from Chozen and Hogen Roshi, marking an important milestone in his path as a teacher. He is also one of the sesshin leaders in ZCO, bringing depth, steadiness, and experience to intensive retreat practice.

Alongside his Zen teaching, Kim Hoben Hansen works as a tax litigator, reflecting a life that bridges contemplative discipline with professional rigor. He is married and has three grown daughters. His background offers a grounded, real-world perspective that resonates with those seeking authentic Zen guidance in a modern setting.
