Description

Biography

Kerstin Deibert (she/her) has spent more than 20 years practicing in the Insight Meditation tradition, including intensive retreats in the US, the UK, Germany, Finland, and Burma/Myanmar. Since 2021, she has been leading retreats and finds deep meaning in supporting people as they explore their connection to the more-than-human world.

Activism and Advocacy

Her teaching is closely linked to a life of political engagement. Kerstin has worked with NGOs and activist groups worldwide as a social justice advocate, conflict mediator, peace activist, and nonviolence trainer through Save the Children International, Greenpeace, and other organizations. She has also written a peace education handbook used by organizations across Sub-Sahara Africa, Latin America, Asia, and Europe, and has led conflict transformation trainings for youth leaders from Pakistan, India, Georgia, and Turkey.

Philosophy

For Kerstin, a guiding question is how to bring the Buddha’s teachings into the realities of our time in a way that nurtures joy and heart resilience, helping us rediscover our shared purpose in caring for the Earth with reverence.
