Since 1997, Katja Schwarz has been part of the NEUE WEGE Reisen family, bringing a deep commitment to well-being and movement. With many years of experience as a sports and yoga teacher, a state-certified motopedagogue, and a psychomotor specialist, she has shaped her professional path with lasting impact. Her personal journey began as a student of Ayya Khema at Buddha-Haus Mittelberg-Oy. A chance connection later led her to a retreat that became a turning point. After a successful selection process, she was able to begin her first journeys and form a lifelong partnership with a skilled and warm-hearted team.
“Travel is life, and life is travel.” (Jean Paul)
Since then, Katja has kept her life in constant motion, with only a pause for her children. She values her collaboration with the NEUE WEGE Reisen team immensely. Her path has taken her across Germany, from Upper Bavaria to Allgäu, Schleswig-Holstein, Rhineland-Palatinate, Baden-Württemberg, and North Rhine-Westphalia. She has left familiar shores behind and embraced new challenges along the way. Health-oriented exercise, yoga, and meditation remain at the center of her work. Her many years of experience in her own yoga school, as well as in cooperation with clinics, health insurance providers, companies, sports schools, fitness studios, schools, and kindergartens, continue to shape her approach today.
Whether through Dynamic Yoga, Therapeutic Yoga, Business Yoga, concentration training, or mindfulness training, her work always places joy, ease, and each person’s individuality at the forefront.
“Do something good for your body so that your soul will want to live in it.” (Teresa of Avila)
As a sports teacher, keeping the body strong and flexible is an important focus for her. As a yoga teacher, however, she aims to encourage people in her courses, trainings, workshops, and on her retreats to adapt their practice to their own needs and to move through the exercises with kindness, mindfulness, and joy. This lightness naturally extends into other areas of life.
“Nothing is more relaxing than accepting what comes.” (Dalai Lama)
Through meditation and a wide range of relaxation techniques, she offers ways to create calm, relaxation, and stress relief in everyday life. Influenced by the Theravada tradition, she often combines her sequences with silence practices, guided meditations, and practical exercises from autogenic training and mental training. Kinesiology, Edukinesthetics, and expressive dance complement her work depending on the course.
The most important piece of travel luggage will always be a cheerful heart!
She would be delighted to welcome you on a journey.
