
Katie Wells M.F.A. is the founder of Interweave Conscious Movement®. Her work as a teacher and performer has reached audiences in Mexico, Central America, throughout Europe, and across the USA. She holds a master’s degree in dance and is also certified in Spiritual Embodiment, Somatic EMDR Trauma Therapy, and Embodiment Coaching.
For more than 25 years, Katie has shared the joy of movement and personal growth, guiding a wide range of experiences that many people describe as life-changing.
As a dance artist, retreat director, mind~body~spirit coach, mother, and part-time professor, she is committed to creating embodied experiences that invite more love into our lives and into the world.

Her solo dance improvisations have toured Germany, the Czech Republic, Hungary, France, and Greece, along with performances alongside musicians such as The Desert Dwellers, Holy River, and Leftover Salmon, as well as several symphony orchestras. She has also danced for choreographers including Shirley Mordine, David Dorfman, Joe Goode, Michelle Ellsworth, and Kathleen Hermesdorf, and performed at Lincoln Center in New York City, the Moss Center in Virginia, and the Rosemont Theater in Chicago.
Katie has improvised and choreographed hundreds of dances and served as movement director for more than 20 full-length productions.
She is currently touring her one-woman show, “Love Letters to Humanity.”
She earned her M.F.A. from the University of Colorado at Boulder and her B.A. from Columbia College Chicago, both in dance with minors in theater and somatics.
She has been dancing for 40 years and practicing yoga for 20.

She had her first mystical experience while improvising in her high school bedroom.
After living in Myrtle Beach, Chicago, New York City, Boulder, and Berlin, she now lives in the mountains of Virginia—25 minutes from the nearest stoplight—for more nature, healing, and child rearing.
