Karl co-teaches silent mindfulness meditation retreats at Sangsurya alongside Stephen Archer. He has been practicing mindfulness and meditation for more than 22 years.
He founded Mindfulness Works, where he leads a team of mindfulness teachers, and he created the Mindfulness Works Introduction to Mindfulness and Meditation course, completed by more than 40,000 people.
His teaching encourages trust in your own inner authority. Karl’s retreats place strong emphasis on love, acceptance, and compassion, and he views our humanity as a path to awakening rather than an obstacle. His work is trauma-informed and draws on modern psychology.
Karl is drawn to simple meditation practices free from dogma and technique, and he teaches from a perspective that honours our inherent OKness and invites us to experience it here and now.
His retreats take a stripped-back approach, supporting you to trust your own experience and let your inner teacher emerge, opening the way for insight, depth, presence, and unconditional love.
Karl’s retreats are suitable for absolute beginners as well as those with meditation and retreat experience.
