Judith Hanson Lasater, Ph.D., PT, has spent 54 years teaching yoga across nearly every state in the USA and on six continents. In 1975, she taught at the very first workshop ever held at Feathered Pipe Ranch.
She is a co-founder of the Iyengar Yoga Institute in San Francisco and Yoga Journal, and she was an early board member of Yoga Alliance. Judith has authored 11 books on yoga and related subjects, including her most recent title, Teaching Yoga with Intention. In 2010, Natural Health magazine named her among five people who had most influenced natural health in the United States over the previous 40 years.
When many people begin yoga, they see it as something they do. With time and practice, that view deepens: yoga is not simply an action, but a state of being. Eventually, we come to realize that yoga can be practiced at all times, until the entire world becomes our yoga mat.
"I began teaching at the Ranch in the summer of 1975, and I have never grown tired of the energy and love to be found at this very special place. Join me to reconnect to your practice, and to get to know and enjoy the other students who come to 'the Pipe' for yoga, community, and fun." ~ Judith Hanson Lasater
Since 1975, Judith has returned to Feathered Pipe Ranch to teach, appreciating the remarkable cuisine, cool starry nights, and the welcome pause from busy life back home. She looks forward to meeting you at the Pipe and sharing in the deep feeling of being truly at home with ourselves.
