Joyce Curnan

Description

Bio

Joyce Curnan (she/her) completed a two-year teacher training in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction in 2009 at Hogeschool Utrecht and is a Category 1 MBSR teacher registered with the Dutch MBSR Teachers’ Association (VMBN). She began meditating as a teenager, with mixed results at first, and spent many years exploring different approaches before finding deeper resonance. Over the past 15 years, mindfulness has become a central part of her life, helping her navigate life through meditative awareness.

Experience

Since completing her teacher training, Joyce has offered MBSR in clinical settings and for the general public, both in person and online, as well as Mindfulness Meditation courses in businesses and schools. She also serves as a mindfulness teacher trainer and mentor for the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program in the US, developed by Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield. In addition, she continues to practice, study, assist, and organize silent retreats and advanced trainings with highly respected meditation teachers from around the world. In 2021, she was recognized as an Insight Dialogue teacher, a relational practice rooted in the Vipassana tradition.
