About Jon Kaplan
Jon Kaplan is a Licensed Clinical Massage Therapist in Illinois and a graduate of The Soma Institute in Chicago. His training includes Traditional Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports Massage, Trigger Point work, and Myofascial Therapy. Over the years, he has collaborated with chiropractors and physical therapists, and served as a lead therapist at one of the country’s top-rated boutique hotel spas. This background enables him to blend deep relaxation with precise, targeted bodywork. Jon became Moon Rabbit’s first massage therapist in Fall 2020 and has played an important role in expanding the massage program.
Professional Experience
Among the most meaningful chapters in Jon’s career was his two-year role as Lead Massage Therapist for The Road Home Program, a comprehensive rehabilitation program for veterans living with post-traumatic stress disorder. Working with this community helped him witness how anxiety and trauma can manifest physically as well as emotionally. For Jon, massage reaches beyond muscles and skin, supporting both body and mind. His approach combines clinical bodywork with mindfulness, guided by the belief that homeostasis is achieved through more than one path.
