Jody Beavers is a tea educator who enjoys introducing people to the world of loose leaf tea, from its many varieties and wellness benefits to the sense of community it naturally creates. He also explores tea’s historical connection to mindfulness and Buddhism.
He has led tea workshops throughout the Bay Area, including at the San Francisco Public Library, museums, schools, offices, restaurants, and from his home in the Mission District. In spring 2013, he co-founded Tap Twice Tea in San Francisco, and he regularly travels across Asia to learn from and collaborate with local tea farmers and producers. Jody is drawn to both nature and human connection, and he values tea as a shared ritual that brings people closer to nature, to one another, and to themselves.
"Tea is an act complete in its simplicity. When I drink the tea, there is only me and the tea. The rest of the world dissolves. There are no worries about the future. No dwelling on past mistakes...there is only the tea, and me, converging." — Thich Nhat Hanh
