Jia is a second-generation licensed acupuncturist from Shanghai, China. Her early exposure to traditional Chinese medicine sparked a lasting interest in the medical arts and sciences. After relocating to the U.S., she earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut, completing a double major in Physiology-Neurobiology and Molecular Biology. Her commitment to holistic health and wellness later brought her to the Pacific College of Health & Science in New York/Chicago, where she completed a Master’s degree in Acupuncture.
During her studies, Jia apprenticed under her mother, Dr. Hua Xie, a licensed acupuncturist and M.D. from China with over 40 years of clinical experience. This training gave her broad experience supporting a wide range of concerns, including acute and chronic pain, psychological and emotional disorders, autoimmune disorders, gynecological disorders, and more.
Her continuing education includes training in infertility treatments with Chinese medicine, Orthopedic Acupuncture, Cosmetic & Facial Acupuncture, and Scalp Acupuncture.
Jia is also a Gyrotonic and Pilates instructor, with expertise in working with individuals who have scoliosis, hypermobility, and osteoporosis. She has a studio in West Loop, Chicago, and remains dedicated to an ongoing journey of learning and practicing modalities that support her clients’ healing and well-being.
