Jeanette, known to everyone as Jet, began her career as a primary school teacher in East End London. Yet photography was always her first passion.
After having children, she made a bold career change and retrained as a photographer. She explored a wide range of styles and genres before discovering that corporate and commercial work was where she truly thrived. For 14 years, she ran her own photography studio, creating work for clients including Porsche and SafeStore, as well as beauty and editorial campaigns for bridal magazines.
Although Jet loved photography, she also missed teaching. She noticed a major gap in the market for helping people get the most from the cameras already in their pockets: smartphones. Four years later, she now runs Jet Black Squares, a hub dedicated to smartphone photography, and no longer owns a “big” camera. She has delivered smartphone training for a number of blue chip clients, including Samsung, Pernod Ricard, and Kew Gardens.
