Jess discovered yoga the way many meaningful things arrive — slowly at first, then all at once. Her introduction to the practice came while she was working at Exhale in Boston, and her connection deepened after moving to Canyon Ranch in Lenox, Massachusetts, where the land, the quiet, and the intentional pace shaped her understanding of the body and its needs. What started as a personal practice grew into a passion, and then into a calling.
After twenty years as a committed student, Jess completed her 200-hour certification at Asheville Yoga Center in 2016. She found a vibrant yoga community in Asheville, teaching everything from Motown, Funk & Soul Flow to long, slow restorative classes, and soon realized her greatest gift was in the stillness. The kind of work that helps the nervous system feel safe enough to soften and unwind.
At Sanctuary, she brings that sensitivity into her Yin classes, which combine traditional long-held postures with hands-on assists and somatic release techniques. Her approach works with the body’s own intelligence to release tension that talk and movement alone may not always reach. Students often leave feeling more spacious, clearer, and deeply at home in themselves.
Jess chose Sanctuary because she sees a community that truly loves this practice. She feels honored to be part of it and looks forward to meeting you on the mat.
