Iona Dudley-Ward is an energetic yoga teacher who brings her practice to life between the lush landscapes of Goa and the vibrant rhythm of Mumbai. Specializing in Ashtanga-Vinyasa yoga, she offers a powerful blend of strength, inclusivity, and an uplifting class atmosphere that welcomes practitioners of every level.
Her relationship with movement began in her early 20s, while studying for a BA Honours Degree in Dance and Performing Arts at the University of Brighton. It was during these years that she discovered the deep connection between breath and movement. A defining moment came at Laban Dance School in London, where she encountered Ashtanga yoga and was drawn to its fluid postures, meditative breath, and sense of joy.
Having practiced Ashtanga yoga and its dynamic variations since the age of 19, she experienced its powerful effect on concentration while working as a comedy actress in her twenties. Over time, what began as a practice became a way of life. In 2013, she formalized her training in India as an Ashtanga Vinyasa teacher for the primary series, studying under the guidance of Yogi Kamal at Tattva Yoga Shala in Rishikesh.
For the past eight years, Iona has led international retreats, first in Sardinia, Italy, and later in the peaceful settings of Goa, India, and Cyprus. In the U.K., she has also hosted Wellness Retreat Days in London and the English countryside. This year marks the fourth edition of her retreat at Nalanda in February, offering an immersive experience.
Over the past five years, her decade-long path as an international teacher has unfolded between the serene coast of Goa and the dynamic energy of Mumbai. Originally from the U.K., she has built a loyal yoga community across both countries.
In Mumbai, her classes have been featured at respected yoga schools and venues such as Soho House Mumbai, The Moon Village, and Yoga House.
In the U.K., she has served as a resident teacher at leading spaces including The South Kensington Club, Yoga Loft, Third Space London, and More Yoga London.
Sardinia, Italy, has also been an important setting for her yoga training, where she has worked as a personal yoga trainer at luxury destinations including The Caledvolpe, The Cervo in Porto Cervo, and The Romanzino in Costa Smeralda.
In Goa, she teaches at Ashiyana Yoga Center, Nalanda - Yoga & wellness retreat centres, Riva Beach Resort for AKA MMA Association, Mojigao eco wellness resort, and Palmorama.Goa.
