Inocencia Izquierda Vayes

Inocencia Izquierda Vayes

Description

Inocencia Izquierda Vayes carries the Shipibo name Panshinbeka, which means “the woman who brings the sun” or “the one born from the sun.” She comes from the Shipibo community of Nueve de Octubre and brings with her a lifetime of knowledge rooted in family tradition and lived experience.

Raised in a lineage of healing, Inocencia grew up surrounded by wisdom passed down from her father, a curandero, her brother, and her mother, who was also a herbalist. These early experiences gave her a deep understanding of the medicinal plants of the Amazon and inspired her to begin more formal training at the age of 20.

Over the years, she has worked in different indigenous communities as a herbalist, dedicating her life to plant medicine and the support of others on their healing journey. Today, she continues this path with devotion, guided by ancestral knowledge, compassion, and a profound connection to the natural world.
