Description

About the Founder of Vinyasa Yogashala®

Guru Ashish Ji’s approach to yoga goes far beyond physical health. For him, yoga is a path to awakening the subconscious mind, deepening self-inquiry, and moving closer to one’s true nature. As he says, yoga creates a rhythm between mind and body that reveals the real self.

He has devoted his life to yoga practice and philosophy, blending timeless teachings with modern methods and tools to create an inclusive space where students of all backgrounds can feel welcome.

He believes that each person is a powerful form of energy, and that this energy moves through different experiences before becoming the reality we seek. No matter how challenging life may be, he teaches that we all have the ability to shape our own destiny. In his view, yoga helps connect us to inner strength and brings out the yogi within.

He also reminds students that a yogi is not defined by appearance, clothing, or speech, but by inner strength and true essence.

4 Principles of Guru Ji’s Philosophy

Thought (Vichaar)

Guru Ashish Ji sees Vinyasa Yogashala® as a shared creation, not something he built alone. He believes that everyone who enters the space becomes part of a larger family and community. For him, belonging matters just as much as the physical practice. He welcomes questions, encourages conversation, and creates an atmosphere of openness and acceptance.

Passion (Junoon)

His enthusiasm for sharing yoga is evident in every class. He is committed to offering a safe, supportive learning environment and has developed a detailed syllabus to help students grow according to their own needs, abilities, and goals. His energy and dedication often leave students feeling uplifted, motivated, and inspired.

Dedication (Lagan)

Guru Ashish Ji began practicing yoga in the mountains of Rishikesh during early childhood and became known as one of the youngest certified yoga trainers. With more than 20 years of teaching experience, he is regarded as one of the most experienced teachers in India. He has guided students from many countries, age groups, and physical backgrounds, always aiming to help each person feel comfortable and relaxed in practice. He shares his knowledge with kindness, love, and the intention to inspire through yogic wisdom.

Karma (Karm)

Having discovered yoga as his life path from an early age, he has remained committed to spreading yoga awareness worldwide. His teaching is designed not only to awaken spiritual connection, but also to build physical strength and emotional resilience. He teaches that yoga is more than postures; it is a way of life that extends beyond the mat. He also believes that spiritual growth begins with understanding the inner self.

About His Journey: A Boy Who Became a Yog Guru

At 5 years old, he began receiving Yog Shiksha in the sacred Himalayas.

By 8, he was already working toward becoming one of the leading yoga gurus and had learned some of the most challenging postures.

At 11, he competed in yoga championships and won nearly all of them, establishing himself as one of the youngest yoga teachers.

At 16, he wanted to open his own yoga school in Rishikesh and share the wisdom he had gained over the years.

Although resources were limited at that time, he continued teaching from home and never gave up on his dream.

By 19, he had taught more than 1,000 students, starting from a small place in Rishikesh.

At 21, he opened Vinyasa Yoga School, which now welcomes students from around the world with strong yoga practices and the facilities needed to support their journey.

Message and Invitation from Ashish Ji

Guru Ji’s Message to You

Every person enters this path with a purpose in mind, though sometimes yoga becomes the answer even when that purpose is not yet clear. I always encourage students not to learn yoga only for the poses, but to learn it in a way that improves their own life and, through them, the lives of others. It takes time to love yoga, and even more time to truly know it. Yoga is an art that offers some of life’s greatest lessons. You do yoga, you do life.

I have witnessed miracles through yoga, seen people develop deep patience, and seen transformations that once seemed impossible. Yoga has so much to offer, if you are ready to receive it. I would love to understand your thoughts and your reason for choosing yoga as part of your life.

Vinyasa Yogashala® is a place where thousands of students discover meaning, and then go on to guide others. That is the spirit of this school.

Become a medium of change through yoga.

Become a source of transformation.

Become an intention that inspires others to live a healthy life.

When you are at Vinyasa Yogashala®, you are connecting with the world through the teachings you receive here. You are not learning only for yourself, but for the world.

See you at the session, be on time :)
