Gulmira’s connection with Ashtanga began when she first arrived at Yoga Shala Reykjavík.
She has practiced Ashtanga yoga for nearly six years, and through it she has developed greater control of the senses, a deeper awareness of herself, and a clearer understanding of her inner sensations and emotions. The practice has also supported her in building energy and staying healthy.
In 2016, Gulmira traveled to Thailand for a yoga retreat and workshop focused on Energy Healing with Petri Raisanen and Yogic Culture and Philosophy with Måns Broo. In 2017, she joined a yoga retreat and workshop with David Robson at Purple Valley Goa in India. In 2018, she completed Ashtanga Assisting School with David Robson.
She has also met and learned from Harmony, Alexander Medin, Maria Boox, Laruga Glaser, Elena Mironov, Julie Martin, and Ryan Leier.
Gulmira explores the Ashtanga Vinyasa system as both a lifestyle and a therapeutic practice. On the mat and in everyday life, she continues to discover how a personal practice can unfold, guided by the quiet voice of intuition and a growing trust in life and herself.
