
Gudrun is a breast cancer survivor and serves on the board of Twist Out Cancer, an international nonprofit dedicated to offering psychosocial support to people affected by cancer. Diagnosed at 32 while caring for a 1-year-old baby, she supported her recovery with acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine alongside Western treatment. After completing cancer treatment, she went through IVF with acupuncture and later welcomed her second child.
She is the CEO and Founder of Moon Rabbit Acupuncture. Gudrun also serves as Co-President of the Vanderbilt Alumni Chapter of Chicago and sits on the Vanderbilt Alumni Board, in addition to holding an officer role with the West Central Association. She lives in Chicago’s West Loop with her husband and two young children.
Gudrun earned a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine and an M.S. in Acupuncture from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago. She also completed General Management studies at Stanford University and holds a B.S. in Economics with a Minor in Neuro-Psychology from Vanderbilt University. In addition, she trained as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) at UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine. She is a Board Certified Acupuncturist (NCCAOM) and a Certified Medical Qigong Practitioner.
