Born and raised in Cyprus, Giota Maifosi moved to Athens in 1999 to follow her passion for ballet and modern dance. She graduated in 2002 from the Rallou Manou Higher Professional School as a ballet and modern dance teacher, then deepened her path after a third-year injury led her to study Joseph Pilates’ method as a supportive practice for dancers and movement lovers alike.
She completed her Pilates training in 2003 at Studio Pilates with Evita Iliopoulou and continued expanding her knowledge through seminars with BASI Master teachers including Rael Isacowitz, Elizabeth Larkam, and Tracey Mallett. In 2007, together with her friend Natasa Papamichali, she founded Pure Pilates in Paiania, where they still teach today.
Alongside her movement background, Giota is also drawn to Usui Reiki, Aura Soma, and Shamanic Traditions, bringing a broader wellness perspective to her work.
