Lama Gerry Kopelow founded the Dharma Centre of Winnipeg, following the guidance of his principal teacher, Ven. Namgyal Rinpoche. Over the course of thirty-five years, he studied with Rinpoche as well as with several other teachers in the Namgyal lineage, building a deep and sustained foundation in the Dharma.
His path has also been shaped by encouragement and advice from both Venerable Tai Situ Rinpoche and His Holiness the 17th Karmapa. This lineage-rooted background brings a sense of authenticity, continuity, and lived experience to his teaching, offering students a connection to a long tradition of Buddhist practice and wisdom.
