Born in Lisbon, Portugal, Francisco Basilio began studying psychology after high school, but soon realized his true path was in cooking. For him, the kitchen became a place to read nature, bringing together people and the natural world through synergy, balance, art, and a deeper understanding of agriculture, chemistry, and health. He soon began traveling the world, learning new cultures, landscapes, and culinary techniques along the way.
At the age of 25, he traveled to India by mistake, or perhaps through a fortunate twist of fate, and discovered Indian cuisine and ayurvedic medicine. He has always held ayurveda in deep respect and continues to practice ancestral knowledge learned through cooking and conversation. Never one to miss a chance for connection, he enjoys speaking with goat herders and checking the best waves at the moment.
After living in many parts of the world, he now shares the joy of life on his small farm with his wife, daughter, and animals. For him, cooking is an act of love that brings together culture, health, and art as a path toward self-healing.
