Emmaleen is frequently asked what first drew her to astrology. After building a career as a lawyer in London and New York, she made an unexpected shift into studying the stars. In 2014, after welcoming her first child, she relocated from New York City to Charlotte, North Carolina, in the US. While staying at home with her child, she noticed an astrology class advertised on a flyer in her local town. It sounded like a meaningful and enjoyable way to carve out some time for herself, so she signed up.
By coincidence, Jupiter had just moved across her ascendant at that time, something she later learned is regarded as a special blessing in astrology, though she did not know it then. Once she joined the class, she quickly saw that she knew very little about astrology, a common experience for many people whose understanding is shaped only by pop-culture sun sign horoscopes. The teacher asked for her birth details to prepare her birth chart, which Emmaleen now describes as the soul’s fingerprint: a unique snapshot of a person.
When the teacher began interpreting her chart and explaining the planets’ placements and signs, Emmaleen was amazed and immediately wanted to know, “How do you know all this?” Her legal background made her determined to understand the process. To her surprise, she learned that astrologers gain knowledge through study and books, not through speaking with spirits, though that might be useful if it were possible.
Her curiosity deepened, and she asked which books the teacher recommended, a clear sign that her interest was becoming something much greater. From that moment on, she was hooked. She devoted herself to learning, making sure that no day passed without exploring astrology. She continued her studies with Jim Dellicolli, trained with Anne Ortelee, and enrolled at the London School of Astrology, where she studied with Frank Clifford.
Learning the ancient language of astrology brought both challenge and joy into Emmaleen’s life. Today, she finds great purpose in supporting people around the world by reading their charts and highlighting their strengths, skills, and gifts. Through astrology, she also explores upcoming transits and offers insight into the energy ahead.
