Elise (she/her/hers), also known as “Ranger Lokey,” leads the Outdoor Explorations Program (OEP), a tuition-free offering that supports homeschool learning through natural science, experiential learning, community building, and self-discovery. She also assists with a range of other outdoor education programs at NWDC. Before joining the team, Elise developed experience in field research, wildlife handling, conservation, ecology, and public speaking while studying and interning at CSU Pueblo. After sharing her research with large groups of curious children at several symposiums, she discovered a passion for inspiring young minds. Prior to NWDC, she worked as a naturalist at Lake Pueblo State Park. Elise is committed to making a positive impact by sharing her knowledge of stewardship, outdoor recreation, and wildlife. In her free time, she enjoys being with her dogs, as well as kayaking, hiking, archery, and travel.
