Durden Napier’s path into yoga began with humor, honesty, and a willingness to start exactly where she was. Her first class was memorable for all the wrong reasons—she felt neither flexible nor strong—but that initial experience sparked a lasting connection to the practice. She first explored yoga through a five-week Kundalini workshop, and years later, a visit to an ashram in Oregon deepened her appreciation for Sanskrit mantra and the spiritual side of the tradition.
Nearly six years after her father’s passing, she felt called to become a teacher. After moving from Los Angeles to Connecticut and then to Nashville in 2011, she completed her certification in 2014. Since then, she has shared yoga in a variety of settings, including creating Yoga Under the Stars at the Adventure Science Center. Today, she teaches on the west side and offers one-on-one sessions, bringing warmth, experience, and a grounded perspective to every class.
