Formerly the Chair of Clear Sky, Duncan Cryle is a certified mindfulness teacher, Dharma teacher, and IBM executive based in Toronto. Over 15 years of teaching meditation and mindfulness, alongside an active international career, he developed a deep understanding of what an integrated spiritual path can look like in daily life.
With a Ph.D. in philosophy, Duncan once expected to enter a monastery, but meeting his root teachers, Doug Duncan and Catherine Pawasarat, in Japan in 2001 changed that direction completely. Their guidance inspired him to grow and contribute at the busy end of life. As a founding member of Clear Sky in 2004, he has seen firsthand how compassionate service within a community can enrich and expand spiritual growth.
Balancing a dynamic relationship and a demanding career, Duncan brings a wide-ranging, holistic approach to spiritual development. He values the spiritual container as an essential part of the path and is delighted to teach and share this course. The journey has brought more energy, consistency in daily practice, and a stronger will to explore the world. Ongoing insights continue to emerge, and the sangha remains central to sustaining his growth.
He is deeply grateful to the teachers Karen and Duncan for their steady guidance on this meaningful path.
