
Dr. Robert E. Svoboda is an American author and ayurvedic doctor who teaches and lectures internationally on ayurveda, jyotish, tantra, and Eastern religion. He has written eleven books, including Prakriti: Your Ayurvedic Constitution (1989) and the Aghora trilogy (1986, 1993, 1997), which explores his mentor Vimalananda and the Aghori tradition. In 1980, he became the first Westerner to graduate from a college of Ayurveda and to be licensed to practice Ayurveda in India. He lived in India from 1973–80 and again from 1982–86, and since 1985 he has traveled globally as a lecturer, consultant, teacher, and writer. He has also served as Adjunct Faculty at the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque, NM, and at Bastyr University in Kenmore, WA.
