About Dr. Reginald "Reggie" Ray
Dr. Reginald “Reggie” Ray is the co-founder and Spiritual Director of the Dharma Ocean Foundation, where he supports the continued development of the somatic teachings of Tibetan Tantra. As a lineage holder in the tradition of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, he brings deep continuity, scholarship, and lived practice to his work.
A respected Buddhist academic and practitioner, Reggie has authored numerous books, audio courses, and online series that reflect decades of study and teaching. He earned his Ph.D. from the Divinity School of the University of Chicago in the History of Religions and later co-founded the Religious Studies program at Naropa University with Chögyam Trungpa. He taught there for more than 30 years, helping shape generations of students through a grounded and expansive approach to spiritual inquiry.
