Dr. Jordan Sloshower, MD, MSc is a board-certified psychiatrist, researcher, and educator with a focus on integrative mental health care and psychedelic-assisted therapies. He completed his medical and psychiatric training at Yale University, where he co-founded the Yale Psychedelic Science Group and worked as both an investigator and therapist in multiple clinical trials of psilocybin-assisted therapy for major depression. He is currently co-director of West Rock Wellness, PLLC in New Haven, CT, and serves as a clinical instructor in the Yale Department of Psychiatry.
With a Yale-based clinical foundation in psychiatry and psychotherapy, Dr. Sloshower combines conventional training with a distinctive perspective shaped by earlier studies in anthropology and global health, as well as a deep interest in ceremonial uses of psychedelic plants, Buddhist philosophy, and alternative wellness traditions. His approach is holistic and thoughtful, drawing creatively from different therapeutic paradigms to better understand suffering and provide safe, effective care.
Over the past decade, Dr. Sloshower has studied the therapeutic potential of psychedelic medicines such as psilocybin, ketamine, MDMA, and ayahuasca, along with ways these treatments can be integrated with psychotherapy and other healing modalities to support holistic healing. In his psychotherapy work, he combines psychodynamic, acceptance and commitment, mindfulness-based, somatic, and cognitive-behavioral methods.
Born and raised in Winnipeg, Canada, Dr. Sloshower earned a master’s degree in medical anthropology at the University of Edinburgh before beginning medical school at Yale University. During his training, he took part in global health research and clinical experiences in India, Nepal, Ecuador, Peru, and South Africa. He has also traveled widely throughout Central and South America and speaks Spanish. Outside of clinical work, he enjoys time in nature, playing guitar, listening to music, and being with family and friends.
