Description

Ayurveda doctor and teacher Dr. Ashwathy Nair was born and raised in Kerala, a region where Ayurveda is part of everyday life. As a child, she watched her orthodox grandmother prepare medicinal herbs and decoctions to support a wide range of ailments. At the age of 12, she met Doctor Gangadharan Vaidyar, who became her mentor and inspired her to pursue Ayurveda as a profession.

In 2014, Dr. Ashwathy completed her five-year degree in Ayurvedic Medicine (BAMS) at Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science, Bangalore. Since then, she has worked with respected Ayurveda hospitals including Kairali Ayurveda in Faridabad, Haryana, and Santhome Ayurveda Arogya Kendra in Sindhudur, Maharashtra. Alongside regular consultations and Panchakarma detox therapies, she has experience in treating spinal disorders, arthritis, digestive disorders, obesity, stress, skin disorders, and PCOD.

As the lead Ayurveda doctor at AyurYoga Eco-Ashram, Dr. Ashwathy provides detailed dosha diagnosis and designs treatment plans that combine herbal therapies, oral medication, and practical lifestyle guidance for life after the ashram. Her compassionate ability to listen and understand the demands of daily life makes her one of the busiest members of the ashram. She also teaches Introduction to Ayurveda in yoga teacher trainings and yoga retreats, and offers one-to-one consultations for yoga students.
