Dr. April Blake is an integrative physician with more than 18 years of clinical experience, working with people facing chronic and complex conditions, hormonal imbalance, mental health concerns, and women’s health issues, including menopause and related stages of life. Her care combines evidence-based natural medicine with a deeply individualized approach, supporting each person on the path to lasting wellness.
She founded Solstice Wellness Centre in Edinburgh, Scotland, and Solstice Naturopathic Medicine in San Rafael, California, home to Scotland’s first Naturopathic Medicine Clinic. Her clinics provide a variety of therapies, including naturopathic consultations, infrared sauna, hyperbaric oxygen, and PEMF mat treatments, all intended to support healing on both physical and emotional levels.
Dr. Blake earned her doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and Midwifery from Bastyr University, along with a BSc in Political Science, International Studies, and Cultural Anthropology from UC Santa Barbara. She is a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians, the California Naturopathic Doctors Association, and the Association of Naturopathic Practitioners in the UK.
Her postdoctoral training includes certification in NeuroNutrient Therapy under Julia Ross, focused on the nutritional treatment of anxiety, depression, addictions, and eating disorders, as well as the Metabolic Approach to Cancer with Dr. Nasha Winters, which centers on terrain-based, individualized cancer care.
Before opening her own clinics, Dr. Blake was one of the first Naturopathic Doctors at One Medical Group in San Francisco, where she spent 10 years working integratively alongside conventional providers. Today, she continues to design personalized treatment plans using botanical medicine, nutrient therapy, amino acids, prescription medications, and lifestyle counseling to help patients move toward vibrant health.
