Donna Amrita Davidge, E-RYT500, YACEP, is the director of Sewall House Yoga Retreat. She first attended a yoga class in college in the 1970s, but it was in the mid-1980s that she fully committed to her practice and studies. She began teaching Kundalini Yoga before expanding into other styles through training with Dharma Mittra, Eddie Stern in Ashtanga, and Genny Kapuler in Iyengar.
For more than 35 years, she has taught full time in New York City, and since 1997 at her retreat in northern Maine. Her teaching experience also includes Golden Bridge, Kundalini Yoga East, Pure Yoga, and the Open Center, among other Manhattan venues. She has an लोकप्रिय Chakra Series online with Daily Om and has developed additional products over the years. Her classes span restorative work to dynamic vinyasa, along with nidra and yin. Her appreciation for chanting, pranayama, and meditation grew from her Kundalini Yoga studies.
Since 2009, Donna has led 200-hour Yoga Alliance Teacher Trainings twice a year in Maine at her retreat. In 2019, her memoir was published, weaving together the story of how yoga supported her healing and the journey of buying her ancestral home to create a sanctuary for healing.
