David Westlake

In 2018, David Westlake co-led his first retreat at Present Moment Retreat in Troncones, Mexico, and the experience left a lasting impression. What he had heard about the destination turned out to be completely true: the setting was every bit as beautiful and memorable as promised. From the peaceful beach and vivid sunsets to the abundance of pelicans and the fresh, delicious food, each detail added to the sense of ease and wonder.

The gentle ocean breeze and welcoming atmosphere created a true home away from home, while the staff throughout the retreat — from the kitchen team and massage therapists to administration and everyone in between — helped make the stay exceptional. Inspired by the warmth of the place and the people, David is eager to return and hopes to turn this into an annual retreat experience for both himself and his students.
