Dave Brown
Description
Originally from South Wales, Dave Brown brings a lifelong connection to the water and more than 30 years of experience in the adventure sector. His passion for swimming began during his time as a pool and beach lifeguard, and it has since grown into an impressive career spanning open-water swimming, coaching, and safety management.
He was the first person to swim to the Skerries Isles off the north west coast of Anglesey, crossing one of the fastest-flowing channels in the area. Over the years, he has also swum numerous lakes in Snowdonia and explored much of the Anglesey coastline through swimming and coasteering. A triathlete, surfing coach, and swimming teacher, Dave has coached both the Welsh and GB Development triathlon squads.
Alongside his coaching work, he provides swim event safety management for a range of organisations and, through his company AcwaTerra, offers specialist adventure training consultancy. His sessions reflect deep expertise, practical knowledge, and a genuine respect for the sea and the wider natural environment.
