In my mid-20s, my brother and I bought a raw parcel of land in the wilds of British Columbia. For years, I returned there for long stretches of solitude, quietly building a small cabin and working closely with the land. That time gave me the space my soul needed to begin asking deeper questions about who I was and what I was here to do.
From an early age, I had been drawn to the nature of reality, ancient mysteries, and the deep sense of separation and unwellness I felt in the world. Something about the way we related to the earth, to each other, and to ourselves never felt quite right. In the stillness of nature, I began cultivating a serious spiritual practice rooted in meditation, contemplation, and shamanic journeys into the great mysteries. Those experiences were life-changing. They awakened me to the deeper potential of creation and to the multidimensional nature of being.
As my path unfolded, my life transformed. A strong desire to grow and learn became central to everything I did. I was shown the vastness of the universe and the immense potential within each person. Guided by spirit, I followed my heart to the Amazon in Peru, where I spent many months immersed in the consciousness of the plants and the great jungle trees. I felt deeply alive there, welcomed by the animate intelligence of the forest.
After returning to British Columbia, I met my wife Robin at Burning Man. Not long after, we returned to Peru together to continue exploring this profound realm of spirit. Our journey eventually led us to the ChavĂn temple high in the mountains of southwest Peru. The ChavĂn civilization, one of the oldest known in Peru, is recognized as a birthplace of Andean spirituality. It was a highly advanced and peaceful culture that lived without walls, weapons, or warriors for at least 2,000 years.
During one powerful ceremony, Robin and I felt ourselves embraced by the love of the ancestors of these ancient masters. With the support of the teacher plants, the land, and the sacred stone of the temple, we experienced direct communion with these ancient ones. Many transmissions and initiations took place that day, activating us as initiates into an ancient lineage of earth and star medicine. We have spent the last 18 years, and continue to this day, unpacking the depth of that experience.
Our path of service is to honor the blessings of these ancient masters and bring this refined medicine into the world during this time of transformation. A few years later, we discovered the Pachakuti Mesa tradition taught by don Oscar Miro-Quesada, a tradition born from the consciousness of the ChavĂn, Moche, Lambayeque, ChimĂş, Nasca, Wari, Inca, and Tihuanacaco ancient ones, as well as the mountain spirits, nature spirits, Pachamama, the plant teachers, and the star realms.
This was a prayer answered for both of us, offering a community rooted in this beautifully alive lineage. Through years of study and training, I continued on the teacher’s path, committed to sharing this beauty way with others. I am deeply moved by the majesty and transformative power of these ancient Andean energies, and I am honored to serve this lineage in support of others on their journeys of healing, wholeness, and well-being.
