About Darah Shonin Ashton
Darah Shonin Ashton has been part of the Zen Community of Oregon since 2009 and became a Dharma holder in 2019. She currently co-leads Thursday evening meditation at Heart of Wisdom Zen Temple, offering a grounded and welcoming presence to those who gather for practice.
In addition to her role in the Zen community, she has served as treasurer for ZCO since 2019. After a 30-year career in chiropractic care, Shonin has recently retired and is enjoying more time with family and friends. Outside of her formal practice, she is also a sewing enthusiast and gladly supports Zen students by tutoring them in the construction of wagessas and rakusus.
