Description

About Danny Ochoa

Born in Medellin, Colombia, Danny Ochoa discovered dance at an early age and went on to compete in a variety of events in his home country. In 2010, he relocated to the United States, where he began sharing his love of movement through Zumba while also building a career as a health educator. Two years later, he moved to New York City and worked with the Latino Commission on AIDS, supporting community well-being through education and outreach.

Alongside this work, Danny coordinated and facilitated workshops for support groups for gay men and people living with HIV, creating spaces for connection, learning, and support. He also developed his career as a drag queen, using dance as a powerful tool to educate communities about internalized homophobia. In 2021, Danny moved to Boston, where he took on a role as a Prevention Coordinator at a hospital for the community and continued teaching Zumba at a local dance studio.
