Broad-minded, interdisciplinary, and deeply compassionate, Daan brings curiosity and enthusiasm to his work at the intersection of contemplative practice, systems thinking, somatic and movement practices, neuroanthropology, cognitive science, Western philosophy, Buddhist wisdom, psychedelic care, and existential therapy.
He weaves these perspectives together to support both individuals and organizations in creating lives and communities that feel more sustainable, equitable, loving, and fulfilling. Guided by a strong interest in personal and cultural transformation, Daan draws ongoing inspiration from nature and ancient wisdom traditions.
His work is shaped by continuous learning in psychedelic medicines, ritual and ceremony, contemplative and somatic practices, relational and systemic healing, eco-chaplaincy and therapy, ethical meaning-making, and the ethics of caring. This commitment reflects a lifelong path of growth, reflection, and compassionate understanding.
Before joining Nectara in December 2023, Daan served as Director of Programming and Ethics at Synthesis Institute and co-founded the Guild of Guides in the Netherlands.
