Cristina Kalyani has spent her life on a path of self-discovery, learning from respected spiritual teachers around the world. Her journey began in 1990, when she was just 11 years old, and over time she has grown into an experienced yoga practitioner and instructor. Before becoming a student at UNI Yoga School, she taught in different alternative communities in Brazil, deepening her commitment to the spiritual path she continues to follow today.
Her training and achievements include:
- Completion of a 500-hour advanced program in classic Hatha yoga, Patanjali yoga sutras, Ayurvedic practices, and yogic lifestyle at Yoga Vidya Dham school in India.
- Initiation into Karma Sanyasa by Swami Satsangananda Saraswati of the Bihar School of Yoga.
- Level Two hypnotherapy certifications with experts including Dolores Cannon and Dr. Brian Weiss, authors of the bestselling book Many Lives, Many Masters.
- Completion of six of the eight modules required for certification in transpersonal psychology and holotropic breathwork through Stanislav Grof Transpersonal Training.
- Author of Beyond Yoga, Healing Arts for Extraordinary States of Consciousness (to be published in April 2024).
- Postgraduate studies in Transpersonal Psychology at IZEN institute, 2 years + 9 months.
- 200 hours of Jungian depth psychology.
- 32-hour integral psychology course.
- Leading transformative retreats at major festivals such as ENCA (Encounter of National Communities), Envision Festival, Decompression Festival, Cosmic Convergence, Sound & Silence, and Boom festival.
- Certification as a sound healing practitioner from the School of Sonoterapia de España since 2020.
- Completion of a sound healing course accredited by the Center of Excellence, England.
- Offering online yoga and meditation courses.
- An extraordinary one-and-a-half-year pilgrimage on horseback, including Asana Choreography and fire dancing.
- 17 years of experience teaching yoga at women’s retreats, including a pioneering surf and yoga camp focused on women’s surf education since 2005.
- Training in shamanism inspired by Sandra Ingerman’s and Michael Harner’s traditions.
- Six years of childhood study in drama and theater, with acting exercises later integrated into her workshops; she has also worked as an actress in commercials.
- Travel to approximately 42 countries and retreat leadership around the globe. Based in Costa Rica since 2001, she has worked with yoga, ceremony, meditation, chromotherapy, hypnotherapy, Reiki, and healing massages, attracting appointments with Gisele Bundchen, the Olsen twins, Jill Hennessy, Mel Gibson, Leonardo DiCaprio, Gwyneth Paltrow, and others.
- Featured in books such as Gisele Bundchen’s Lessons and The Nature of Yoga by Bill Tipper, as well as in magazines including Yoga Journal and Happiness.
