Christina brings a broad range of experience and healing modalities to support the many layers of life in a complex world. Her teaching shifts with the larger cycles of nature, drawing on Yin and Yang practices and ayurveda to help bring students back into balance. In slower-paced classes, she often weaves in spiritual teachings that have guided her own path, while also playing guitar and singing to create a deeply nourishing atmosphere.
She especially values one-on-one work, where she can go to the root of physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, or energetic challenges. Christina also uses a diagnostic tool called Veda Pulse, which reads imbalances in the body from an Ayurvedic perspective and offers guidance on lifestyle, food, and yoga poses to restore harmony. In private sessions, including via Skype, she offers Thai Yoga Bodywork and Faster EFT, and she leads Body Thriving programs for individuals and groups focused on detox, weight loss, and restoring vitality through strong self-care and habit change. For retreats, she prepares healthy local foods and shares her range of healing practices with participants.
From an early age, Christina faced health challenges, including Rheumatic Fever, which taught her to be very mindful of her food choices. Later in adulthood, she navigated candida issues, deepening her interest in detox, the Body Ecology Diet, raw and living foods, and ayurveda. She raised three children who became top athletes and academic award winners, reflecting the values she brought into parenting.
During difficult periods in life, Yin Yoga, sound, and meditation became essential supports. A car accident in 2014 left her dealing with emotional and physical setbacks, and it was through this experience that she discovered Faster EFT and began further studies in ayurveda and herbalism. During that stressful, sedentary time, she also experienced pain and weight gain, and has since healed herself with the tools she now shares with others.
Christina found spiritual faith through the Native American ways of the Lakota Tribe, and later moved with her family to the mountains in search of greater peace, community, and healing. There, she helped found Heartwood Community, its garden, and Heartwood Health and Yoga Retreat Center. She has been practicing yoga and various healing techniques for 19 years and is devoted to supporting the evolution of body, mind, and spirit.
Her intention is always to hold space with love, grace, and ease for the benefit of all life on Earth.
Christina received her 200-hour yoga certification in Vinyasa Yoga at PYC (Peachtree Yoga Center) in 2000, followed by Prenatal Yoga certification in 2003. In 2005, she completed Thai Massage certification in Thailand. She later attended a 100-hour Yin Yoga and meditation intensive with Sarah Powers at the Kripalu Institute in 2007, and earned Advanced 500-hour yoga certification at PYC along with Pranic Healing training in 2008.
She is currently training for certification in Faster EFT, Living Ayurveda, and Taste of Herbs courses.
