Cassandra has been leading retreats both locally and internationally for more than 15 years. Participants are warmly welcomed into a calm, non-judgmental space designed for rest and enjoyment. She first discovered yoga in her early twenties while travelling, and after her very first class, she knew she had found a powerful practice that left her feeling grounded and clear. When she returned to Sydney in 1997, she began studying regularly, and in 2003 she started a 4.5-year teacher training apprenticeship at the Art of Yoga, Summer Hill. In 2009, after many years of dedicated training, she became certified as an Anusara® yoga teacher.
Cassandra has continued to deepen both her practice and teaching through repeated study with Anusara founder John Friend and many of his senior teachers. She has also studied regularly with meditation and philosophy teacher Carlos Pomeda and yoga therapist Doug Kellar, and remains grateful to the many generous teachers who have supported her over the past 20 years. Her classes blend precise biomechanical alignment with heart-centred philosophy, with the intention of bringing a sense of freedom and lightness to both body and heart.
