Camilla brings a deeply personal and compassionate approach to recovery, wellness, and community. Sober since 1999, she has been part of the 12-step fellowship for more than 26 years, and her work is rooted in lived experience, resilience, and connection. As a certified yoga teacher in hatha, vinyasa, and kundalini yoga, as well as a breathwork and sound healing facilitator, she offers practices that support both healing and self-discovery.
Since 2013, Camilla has been teaching yoga and hosting 12-step and yoga retreats in Portugal and Tenerife, creating spaces where people can rest, reflect, and feel supported. She also teaches Y12sr (Yoga 12 Step Recovery) at Point O, a Dutch 12-step treatment centre in Portugal, and leads monthly women circles for local women. Together with her husband, she has lived in Portugal since 2016, where they built Rural Escapes Portugal.
Her passion is helping others find peace, laughter, and meaningful connection in recovery — with warmth, honesty, and the reminder that we truly are not a glum lot.
