Originally from Australia, Annie King and her family moved to the United States more than 20 years ago. A series of meaningful chance encounters, including her studies in Plant Spirit Medicine, led her to support the creation of the Sacred Fire Community through community fires. Since the first fires in the U.S. in September 2001, around the time of 9/11, this practice has grown around the world into a source of solace and transformation. Annie is deeply grateful for the opportunity to support this work and honored to have collaborated with the Firekeepers devoted to bringing Fire to their people.
She has taught yoga, meditation, and stress management in schools, hospitals, and private settings in both Australia and the U.S., and she offers retreats as well as a healing practice in Florence, SC. Annie was fortunate to be initiated as a granicera in the Nahua weather-working tradition and is currently becoming a tepahtiani, a healer in that lineage. She feels immense gratitude for her loving husband and her family, which now includes two grandchildren who bring her great joy.
