Anni Ntoumouzi

Anni Ntoumouzi

Description

Biography

Anni Ntoumouzi graduated from the Music School of Thessaloniki and trained as a professional actress, a path she has pursued actively for several years. Throughout her career, she has worked with a wide range of theater groups and venues across Greece, including the National Theatre of Northern Greece.

Her artistic journey is grounded in the relationship between voice, body, and expression. She has studied vocal practices and music therapy through specialized programs at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, including “The Voice in Song” and “Music Therapy: Theoretical Approaches, Practical Applications, and Experiential Exercises”.

Since 2020, she has been a member of the UK-based Natural Voice Network (NVN), embracing its belief that singing is a natural, embodied, and accessible human right. She also facilitates voice and theater-based workshops for both children and adults.

For more than ten years, she has explored traditional and polyphonic songs from different cultures, with a focus on body-centered approaches to vocal expression. Each year, she leads workshops and experiential summer intensives in polyphonic and traditional singing, blending somatic awareness, improvisation, and vocal resonance. She is currently training in sound healing with Tibetan singing bowls and in energy-based therapeutic modalities.

Anni has participated in many seminars on voice, polyphonic traditions, and performance practices, learning from teachers from around the world. Her vocal training continues with soprano Valia Mavridou, and she was also an active member of various choirs for more than 13 years.

She has collaborated and performed with polyphonic groups such as Apotheri, focused on Greek polyphony, Fones, dedicated to polyphonic songs from around the world, and Dioni, known for polyphonic songs of Epirus, appearing in concerts in Greece and abroad.
