Ango Sara Tashker has been a residential practitioner at San Francisco Zen Center since 2002, bringing more than two decades of steady commitment to Zen practice and community life. Over the years, she has served in a wide range of roles, including Farm Manager, Creek Restoration Project Manager, and Director at Green Gulch Farm, as well as working in the kitchen and bathhouse and serving as Head Student (Shuso) at Tassajara.
Her approach reflects a deep appreciation for everyday life as the ground of practice — from growing food and caring for the land to nurturing community, motherhood, and attentiveness to the breath and body. In fall 2019, she received Dharma Transmission from her late teacher, Sojun Mel Weitsman. She now serves as Director of Donor Relations and welcomes hearing what people love about the San Francisco Zen Center.
