Andres Anguita

Description

Retreat facilitator. “In love with life, even when it hurts” is a line that reflects Andrés’ outlook. Born in Spain in 1966, he has carried a deep curiosity for nature and humanity’s place within it since childhood. In 2011, his path led him to the medicinal plants of the Peruvian Amazon, where he began learning from the Shipibo-Conibo people about their relationship with nature and their understanding of plants as intelligent beings we can communicate with in ways unfamiliar to Western culture.

Since then, Andrés has worked with ayahuasca as a way to reconnect with nature, especially with medicinal plants. From 2011 to 2013, he studied and served at the Temple, and later deepened his training with Shipibo Maestra Ynés Sánchez and her family along the Ucayali River. There, he completed plant spirit dietas and learned how to work with plant medicines, including ayahuasca.

He has since devoted himself to serving medicinal plants within the Shipibo tradition in Europe and Latin America. Now back at the Temple, he supports guests as they integrate their plant medicine experiences, drawing on his own journey and his lifelong love of nature.

Andrés is also committed to building intercultural bridges and exploring new narratives that support coexistence through reciprocity and respect. He believes in learning together and discovering healthier ways of relating to the natural world. His travels have taken him widely: in Indonesia, he learned shadow puppetry; in England, he taught creative arts to homeless people and prisoners; and in Brazil, he studied art therapy and cared for medicinal plants in the rural area where he settled.
