Ana Berry’s path into yoga began at age 12, when a Rodney Yee VHS class sparked a lifelong devotion that has now grown into more than 26 years of practice and over 12 years of teaching. Along the way, she has studied with leading teachers in Chicago, Los Angeles, and New York, and while living in Los Angeles, she found her teacher, Mark Whitwell, founder of The Heart of Yoga. Grounded in the teachings of Sri Krishnamacharya, these principles resonated with her deeply.
After studying with Mark for more than four years in LA, Ana completed her 500-hour teacher certification during a spiritual pilgrimage and training in India. Since then, she has traveled and taught alongside Mark Whitwell as his assistant and guest teacher at venues including Esalen, Bali Spirit Fest, Omega Institute, Kripalu, Telluride Yoga Festival, and many others. After returning to Tulsa, she has led yoga classes and workshops at Be Love, The Yoga Room, I AM Yoga, Everyone Yoga School, and Salt Yoga.
For Ana, yoga is ultimately about relaxation and active participation in our own lives. Her teaching begins with the heart and stays centered on the breath, offering each student a full mind-body-spirit experience. In class, she invites students to work with hidden emotions and stagnant energy held in the body, creating space to transform what no longer serves into energy that does. She welcomes everyone, from complete beginners to advanced practitioners, and especially those who are skeptical.
Her classes are not cookie-cutter yoga or Instagram-pose yoga. No fancy yoga pants are required, and you do not need to touch your toes. Ana invites students to arrive exactly as they are and discover a practice that reflects who they are and where they are in life.
