Founder and AMGA Aspirant Guide, Amy founded FIFTHclass and has spent more than a decade living in the region, exploring its hidden corners in depth. John Long once called her “the high priestess of the High Sierra,” a title she continues to honor through her passion and dedication. With more than fifteen years of climbing and mountaineering experience, Amy has tackled some of the world’s most iconic rock faces, including El Capitan and all three towers of Torres del Paine in Patagonia. After more than ten years focused on first ascents on major walls, she now leans toward sport climbing, while still taking on the occasional big mountain trad mission or bouldering session. She is an AMGA Aspirant Guide, has AIARE training, and is a Wilderness First Responder. Amy also serves as Lead Safety for Running Wild with Bear Grylls and occasionally contributes to other productions through rigging, scouting, and safety work.
