
Amana Brembry Johnson is an experienced meditation teacher and respected community leader whose contemplative path spans more than forty years and draws from multiple spiritual traditions. Based in Oakland, California, she is a Core Teacher at the East Bay Meditation Center (EBMC) and also serves as a coordinating teacher for residential retreats at Spirit Rock Meditation Center. Her long-standing commitment to teaching has helped shape important training pathways for emerging leaders, including EBMC’s Spiritual Teacher and Leadership (STL) Training, which she helped found, as well as the Mindfulness Meditation Training Certification Program (MMTCP), where she once mentored new mindfulness teachers.
Her approach weaves together spirituality, social justice, body awareness, and intuitive creativity, creating a grounded and expansive space for reflection and growth. Through her work, participants can expect a thoughtful and compassionate presence that supports both personal insight and collective healing.
