With more than twenty-five years of experience, Alison Gayek brings depth, sensitivity, and a strong foundation to both her healing and teaching work. She trained under Eliot Cowan and began her clinical practice in the late 1990s. In 2002, Cowan invited her to teach alongside him, and over time she became a fully trained teacher of Plant Spirit Medicine in the Eliot Cowan tradition. Her approach reflects years of study, practice, and direct experience in working with healing traditions.
Alison is also initiated as a Granicera, or Weather Shaman, and as a healer in the Nahua tradition indigenous to Central Mexico. This lineage adds another layer of wisdom to her work and informs the way she supports others through plant-based healing practices.
Before dedicating herself to Plant Spirit Medicine, Alison earned a Master’s degree in History from Yale University and spent more than ten years working as a writer and editor. She now maintains a clinical healing practice in North Carolina, where she lives with her family.
