Hatha yoga anatomy and philosophy teacher, Akshey comes from a small town in northern India and holds a degree in business. Raised in a family with a natural affinity for yoga, he was drawn to the practice from an early age. His path led him to respected schools and teachers, including the Bihar School of Yoga and the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Society in Rishikesh. He also spent a significant period in Uttarkashi in the Himalayas, where he studied yoga asanas and philosophy with monks and experienced yogis.
A lifelong learner, Akshey continues to approach his work with curiosity and dedication. He is a registered E-RYT 500 hour trainer with Yoga Alliance and teaches anatomy, philosophy, and Hatha yoga. His alignment-based method, inspired by the Iyengar tradition, has helped him train hundreds of yoga teachers. Known for being both disciplined and compassionate, he places strong emphasis on solid foundations and correct movement in yoga asanas. One of his favorite reminders is: “Do the posture, not the torture.”
