Aimee is from the USA and moved to Melbourne in 2018 after completing a BFA in Theater at The University of the Arts. While training as a classical ballerina at The University of the Arts and Pennsylvania Ballet, she sustained a hip injury. During her rehabilitation, she discovered classical Pilates.
She was drawn to the precision and fluidity of the method, and was delighted to find that it supported her return to an active lifestyle while also helping extend her ballet career. The experience had such a positive impact that Aimee chose to become an instructor, with the intention of supporting others on their own journeys. She is deeply committed to Pilates and to its ability to strengthen the body through injury and recovery.
In 2021, Aimee became a Romana's Pilates International Level IV Instructor. The training involved more than 600 hours of observation, teaching, self-practice, and lesson taking. She is qualified to teach across all Pilates apparatus, including the Reformer, Cadillac, Mat, Wunda Chair, Baby Chair, and more. Aimee especially enjoys teaching Mat Pilates because of its variety, and she also considers it one of the most challenging apparatus.
Pilates has given Aimee the opportunity to connect with inspiring people and witness the profound benefits of the work. She is passionate about helping others feel their best, both physically and mentally, and values getting to know her clients, their stories, and their histories. One of her favorite Joseph Pilates quotes is: "Change happens through movement and movement heals." She truly believes this to be true.
When she is not teaching, Aimee can be found acting, writing, reading a good book, or baking. Her warmth and friendliness naturally come through in her teaching.
